Black Wage Gap

Black Wage Gap

I would like to reiterate during segregation (our separation from whites), we Blacks were forced to start and support the businesses in our own communities. Most of our businesses flourished and even help make other Black communities, such as the Greenwood community in Tulsa, Okla., (often called Black Wall Street), wealthier than the white neighbors.

Unfortunately, when segregation ended, Blacks immediately flocked to support businesses owned by whites and other groups, causing Black restaurants, theaters, insurance companies, banks, etc. to literally disappear. Sadly today, Black people spend 95 percent of their income at white-owned businesses which make most Blacks unfit to survive and incapable of shaping their own destiny.
